About

Sometimes you need a place to tell your stories. Or whisper a secret. Or complain. Or make an announcement. Or tell a joke. Or maybe just let your friends know what you are doing at the moment. This is my place.

So anyway, it was sleep all the way until lunchtime, whereupon we grabbed a very quick lunch before going downstairs to the main ballroom for the results. FREAK ! Anyway, it was quite disappointing. I got a 76 for my last paper, bringing my average down to 84 .... which meant 11th placing out of 126. Not really great, but not really bad either. It is just disappointing though, as I think I can understand now how GACit got 3rd last year. It is not really that difficult if you put some heart into it... Sigh. I got screwed on a combination of too much mahjong, karaoke and poker along with some carelessness. Oh well, I have to be content with my 11....and then start work on my CFA and also next year's programme.

Then it was speeches....and then presentation ceremony of certificates... There were 3 people from China in the top 10, but the first 3 were from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Then Indonesia. One from Hong Kong, and another from India. GAIst was 10th.. from Malaysia. Crapness. I swear we could have done better. No Singaporeans or Koreans though....haha...so much for all the kiasuism in the first few weeks. Then it was back to the rooms to primp for the cocktail party that evening which was pretty decent since there were actually cocktails served...free of charge instead of just the usual beer and wine. I think they used up more than 50 bottles...including many many rounds of Hennesy VSOP. Then myself and the usual gang, took a trip to Imbi for supper and later to Poppy Garden. I think Zouk is a better club, where Poppy is a better chillout lounge....with too many people. As we were leaving though, the Koreans were leaving and there were already tears in many eyes...

Saturday I checked out after clearing all the stuff out of my room, sent off 11 of the HKGAs...(sob sob) then had lunch at Asiacafe with plans to go for GoKart at Extreme Park again with the remaining 4 who extended their stay. The rainfall scotched that plan and we went to RedBox Pyramid instead. Then it was dinner at Jarrod and Rawlings...(fantastic place !!) where the meat is great and the bacon is amazing and still wonderfully cheap. Somewhere to go back to !!! Then instead of going back home, we went back to the hotel for poker, booze and lots of talking. Finally slept at 7 for a couple of hours..before (sob sob) it was goodbye at 11.

Just cleared all the stuff from the car into the house. Work tomorrow. Urg.
