Another day another fun trip. But first Friday night, saw a whole night of Mahjong back at the Lucky Centre, with MrSng, wife and a friend. 9 hours of solid fun, a good seafood dinner, and a winning ending kept me very happy. Just happy enough to collapse in a cab and going home for a shower and a very short nap.

This time we rented the holiday house of the bank in Tong Fook, in Lantau Island. We gathered at the pier to leave around 12, and after a short ride, we were there. It was a very hot day and it was fun to go and pick up the car at the island. It was a real clanker and looked old and the air condition did not really work. We drove around the island toward the holiday house and had a great roadtrip kind of feel.

At the house, it was great to just sit and rest with the air conditioning on, but as the rest prepared to go for lunch, I volunteered to stay in. Actually I really wanted to just tan on the beach, so while they were all gone, I nipped down the backyard stairs and just tanned for a whole hour. It was great. Have not spent so much time in the sun, doing nothing but tanning for a while. I could feel all the sweat coming out and my skin burning as well. After an hour, took a cold shower, and then went swimming in the sea again when some of the others came back.

As the rest slowly all arrived, we settled in for some good old mahjong, and some people started preparing the food for barbeque as well. Barbeque was hot work, and led to many many burnt sausages. Steak was good though. After the food, we took turns to shower and then play more card games. We had a round of poker, where I won 500 bucks. More mahjong lasted till 2 am and I was soooo tired, especially after the previous night. Fell asleep in the hall and only woke up the next morning when people handed me a coke and an ice cream to start the day.

Rushed back to central after a McDonalds lunch as it was Korean class day as well. For the second week running, I was a very tired boy in class, but worth it, as by the end of the class I could read !!

Yay ! I can read Hangul now, but have no idea what the words mean.

And that was because later that week, on the Wednesday no less, we went horse racing !! That was really fun. We all got stuck into work, tried to finish early and then jet setted across to the racing ground. Though we missed the first two races, there were still about eight to go. And we quickly got into the racing form and talked about strategies and reasons for each horse to win.

We were there in a restaurant overlooking the racing ground, so we could see the real horses on the ground. Pretty fun. The great thing about being in the restaurant was that we were inside, where it was cool, while outside the Summer was really hot. The great thing was, I won quite a bit of money at the races at well, and had a really great track record at picking out the winners. The team was a bit impressed, though I must say, it was a lot about looking at the statistics. All in all, it was a very very fun night. Racing in Hong Kong, another great experience !!

Ooh I am falling behind..

Anyway, so the week after the yacht, was when my team had a barbeque. Perfect, with the hot weather. It was very fun, and a change from normal BBQ. The reason being, we had huge chunks of meat, large prawns, fish, gourmet sausages. Haha, such a difference from BBQing with friends of the same age. Drinks were beer, wine, and a huge bottle of sake.

One of the best things was the skyline from up there. This is at my boss's aparment. What a view right ? You can fall in love with Hong Kong just looking at the view. In this picture, you can actually see my aparment, somewhere in the middle. And you can also see my new office, into which I would be moving into in September. It is the tallest building in the picture. It will be very exciting.

Later on that evening, when the kids went to bed, we moved to poker, a perennial favourite of our team. Fun + huge winnings for me that night. And it was only the beginning of a very lucky week for me.

The yacht was loads of fun. We set off into the morning sun, with a strong westerly wind, and headed towards the wide open sea.
It had been slightly rainy earlier in the morning so there was no sun tanning or swimming going on. Rather, we aimed for Ma Wan, which was a place where cars could not access and was pretty special in that respect.
We reached the jetty and were welcomed by colourful flags. We got off the boat and walked around the little village and took many pictures. Towards the other side, we arrived at one of the newest attractions in HK, Noah's Ark. Basically it is a huge model of the Ark, with animals, museums and restaurants. We walked around, had some ice cream and walked around the Ma Wan park as well.

Later we got back on the boat and headed for Ping Chau island. Practically a village on an island and we took a long walk around the place before hopping to the next island Cheung Chau for a seafood dinner. Superbly cheap and delicious ! The ride back at around 9 pm was great, as all the lights were on in Hong Kong, and the feeling of the wind in your face, while you sit around telling ghost stories was also awesome ! We also took some funny photos.
It was a great feeling, and there was hardly any feeling of seasicknesses. It was also fun to get real close to some of the container ships to find out how huge they really were !!!
Fantastic and loads of fun !!
