Have you ever hugged someone really tightly and pretended it was someone else because you wanted to hug that someone else instead ?

Have you ever breathed in really hard while hugging someone because you wanted to remember what they smell like ?

Have you ever kissed someone like you were in love and closed your eyes and pretended it was someone else ?

Have you ever loved with all your heart and heard it smash into bits over random STUPID acts or words from other parties or interested parties ?

Have you ever picked up the pieces and moved on just to see it smash again because it was not fixed properly ?

Have you ever wished that you did not delete or throw away those messages that used to made you burst into lovey emotions when you were angry ?

Have you ever kept random SMSes just because they remind you of how someone would talk or think or do something ?

Have you ever pretended something did not matter but in fact, you wanted to just run away, or cry, or just scream it all out into a canyon ?

Have you ever wanted to turn around and tell that special someone about something that only you two would appreciate, only to realise that they were not around, and would probably not be around any more ?

Have you ever dreamt about that someone, over and over again....and then again ?

Love is a big Sigh.

Headache. The worst thing in the world is impossible love.

I wish you all the happiness in the world and hope you find your happy ending.

~ Stress ~ Love ~ Sleepy ~

OMG. Just read NiqBear's blog while writing this. Bleh !! You stole my love quotes !! HAHAHAHHAHA. So nice to read it. It reinforces my ideas so much.

And I liked this one the most, one I have heard often enough.

"If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, they were always yours. And if they don't, they never were."
Kahlil Gibran

Ah Love. Crazy little thing. Crazy BIG thing. Who knew ?

If anyone knew what they were getting into when they were falling love, would they still do it ?
I think I would. Every SINGLE time.

Today I got more books for my CFA.

The guy told me he never wanted to see me again.

I must have look puzzled because the next thing he said was that it was because he wishes that I would pass, so that I would not have to buy books from him ever again.

Now that is salesmanship for you !

No wonder I have introduced so many people to him.

He deserves to be successful.

Bah. Am sick. Talk about not being bored any more.

Started with a flu and cough over the New Year and added on a migraine yesterday. By dinner time, had gastric and a high fever as well. Went to the clinic, had some medicine, and got an allergic reaction which made my eyes swell like KaiBear's. Bah.

Bah.

Bah.

Now am dizzy.

And had a mega giant craving for McDonald's.

Utterly bored.

Strange though. After a whole week of busy days..............

Had dimsum for WoobyBear's farewell before some Gin Rummy at JinBear's house and then more Gin Rummy at GAKS' house.

Overdosed. No more Gin Rummy.

And KeeBear FFK.... you better come back with the MJ !

Coincidence as well. WoobyBear is leaving tonight on the same flight as SailorJow ! Lol.

V Day today.

Yesterday night, as JasBear and I were driving along the LDP, we saw a billboard.

With a picture of a guy holding a ring, asking a girl to marry him.

SOOOOOOOOO SWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTT !!!!!!!!

So it really does happen in real life too !! It was at the Kelana Seafood Centre, and it was huge and bright ! So cool. You see, there is romance in the world ! You just have to look for it, and be brave and take action !! Ah, love....

And also my department held a colouring contest with a picture of a teddy bear.

Someone cut the bear out and stuck it on a nice backdrop. Another stuck a real teddy bear on the picture and said it was 3d. HAHAHHHAHAHHAA.

I hope everyone in the world has a fantastic Valentine's Day.

I bought Valentine's gifts for myself. CK Undies. Hahaha. At Pavilion. When I went for lunch with one of my old managers. Later, met up with JeanBear and JasBear at Sungeiwang before shopping for 'lala' clothes. Well, it was basically me convincing JasBear to buy while JeanBear seemed very disapproving. Got a call then, from Melbourne. Hehe. Those people were calling JeanBear again !! Meaning CCBear and DamBear la !

DanBear came along in LowYat to look at electronics stuff, before I went on to JinBear's house (third day in a row) for some Mahjong. Too bad, we had to play GinRummy so I lost some more money. But I am determined to learn how to play that game too.

Dinner at Pantai Seafood, for SharBear's farewell to Shanghai, DanBear's farewell to Melbourne and WoobyBear's farewell to Korea. Though will see SharBear tomorrow (probably at JinBear's house..again) and WoobyBear for brunch on Saturday.

This has been a really busy busy week and weekend..feels a bit tiring but has been plenty of fun.

KeeBear !! Where are you ! Need to MJ with you !! Retest skills !!!

Went to work feeling really woozy.

And realised later on that I finished my work in a QUARTER of the time that I was supposed to do it ! Is that what medication can do to me ?

As of midnight last night, I have already earned more from Mahjong then all angpow for the year combined. Lol.

Amazing fun though. I think I have fallen in love with the game all over again ! Not that we were ever apart, but maybe our relationship has deepened and intensified. Played with about 7 different people including JinBear's mom.

Unfortunately, am feeling sickly at the moment, as have a sore throat, flu and cough, in fact, all quite usual features of post CNY celebrations. Am dreading work tomorrow.

Busy week ahead, with JoaBear's place tomorrow (maybe), then JasBear coming on Wednesday, then VDay Dinner on Thursday, not to mention farewells for DanBear, SharBear and WoobyBear off for his NS.

Woah. I need sleep then.

Meanwhile the great start to the New Year had me winning my annual Monopoly deathfight against my siblings. And as for the results of all that mahjong yesterday, it was fantastic. Will list down some of my biggest wins so far. Haha. I am still trying to collect all the biggest hands in a single year (lunar year).

So far for the Rat Year I have collected

1. 3 Lesser Scholars Hand (小三元)
2. 3 Great Scholars Hand (大三元)
3. 4 Small Blessings Hand (小四喜)
4. Pure Honor Hand (全翻字)
5. Heavenly Hand (天胡)
6. Dirty Hand
7. Purely Concealed Triplets Hand (Hidden Treasure Triplets Hand) (啃啃胡)

The one that got away

1. 4 Great Blessings Hand (大四喜) (I blame CCBear and DamBear for calling while I was waiting for the last card to win...)

The ones I need to collect

1. Earthly Hand (地胡)
2. 9 Gates Hand (九蓮寶燈)
3. 13 Terminals Hand (13 Unique Wonders Hand, 13 Orphans Hand) (十三么)

You know, with my twin addictions, if facebook comes up with a mahjong application, I doubt I will ever leave the computer again.

Must be one of the tamest and most boring Chinese New Year celebration for me this year...

Had to work on the eve, so basically skipped out on a whole lot of dumpling making. Gone were the days where we made thousands from morning till evening. This year, we had a pre-session, on Saturday morning. After work, rushed home, for a mini nap, before going for dinner with relatives on Dad's side.

After dinner, Facebooked till 4 am. It is rare, that I get to do as much facebooking time as yesterday, as usually I am dead tired. But as CNY is a public holiday, Hurray !

Woke up 7 am though, for exercise, before napping from 10-12. Finally woke up and went along with the family, first to Mom's side, then Dad's side, and we managed to reach home at 3. More naps. Till 6 pm.

Then it was facebook till now ~ 11 pm. Ahaha. Yes. Very boring indeed.

However, at 11 pm, my siblings and I have our annual Monopoly game, so I guess some things have not changed. Total red packet collection has not even been remotely interesting, as I earned more playing Mahjong in Cambodia....Sucks. Need more mahjong in the next few days !!

At the same time, was really happy on Thursday, as finally got rid of the stupid trainee who was working for me. Hah. That would teach him to be so useless. To show how useless he was, he took Monday AND Tuesday to do Monday's work. During lunchtime Tuesday, when it seemed as if he would not be able to finish the work, I started on Tuesday's work and STILL finished before him. So useless ! This kind of people should be got rid of straight away as they are an impediment to the firm ! !!!!! One of the officer's told me not to compare these people with me since I was a (in his words) top guy, but still, that is just ridiculous. But I got rid of him. Feel happy about it too.

A quarter of February has passed, and I am not even used to 2008 yet !

Time flies.

Happy Chinese New Year everyone !!!

RoxBear is on the plane. This marks a whole month of foreign friends, whether here or overseas. Sigh. It was pretty surreal to have NiqBear, SherBear and RoxBear here. And I believe actually LucBear is still lurking somewhere !

We had lots of fun the week she was here although I could not go along on the Penang trip. We had jaunts to Telawi and Bangsar Village, enjoyed massages and body scrubs, ate at Tamarind at Ampang, shopped at 1U, Gardens, sang karaoke, watched Enchanted, ate Mamak and talked. A lot of fun.

Back to work tomorrow. Grr. I hate beginning of the month. It will be a real slog tomorrow. On the bright side, am meeting JoBear for dinner, as she is back from Adelaide for a while. Interesting.

Oh ! Massive thanks to RoxBear for two more additions to my wardrobe !

PS. Did you know I have lost 5 kg since November ? Am thinking if I have to pro rata it when I report the weight loss for my resolutions appraisal................ Then again, I suppose a more important issue is whether I can keep it off, and go on losing more............... Bleh. Takes all the fun out of it...

CNY is coming.... MJ MJ MJ MJ MJ MJ MJ MJ MJ MJ MJ MJ MJ MJ MJ MJ !

We woke up for some breakfast at the next door cafe (lovingly called KCafe). Then we went next door. We had another of those traditional Cambodian meals for lunch, mainly rice with different vegetables, and always, always a big boiling pot of soup. After lunch, the first of many ceremonies started. We all sat on carpets in the front yard of the main house and watched as KBear came out in ceremonial regalia and then proceeded to sit on a chair and had his hair ceremonially cut. There was a also a part involving a man climbing to the top of a tree and cutting off a piece of the soft bark. Very interesting to see how he climbed up with no instruments really, much like how kids would climg a tree, except that it was a branchless tree, those sort of palms, with a smooth trunk. There were also traditional singers and prayers as well. An interesting part was that it was custom not to sit cross legged, and instead sit with your legs at your side. As a result, many people (us) who were not used to it, kept switching sides as it hurts, and in the end some people just gave us and forgot about custom. After some more customs, it was time to go to the bride's house.

By this time, there was open revolt between the two vehicles used to ferry us around, as apparently one of them was less comfortable and had less air conditioning and was therefore more depressing. For the previous week, the guys were assigned the lesser vehicle, and by this time, were complaining. Privately, I thought it had more spirit and more interesting conversation. Not having tried it before, I went on, and I understood why. The good thing about travelling with KBear's dad is that we travelled in a convoy with police and guards around us. Feels mighty grand sometimes. So there would be sirens. and sometimes, giving us the right of way along junctions and traffic lights. Very impressive. One would always want to wave one's hand at the passing masses, royally of course.

At the house, we walked around and lazed, waiting for more ceremonies and dinner. Many pictures were taken this time (incidentally, I know I should probably put up photos to make this more interesting, but they are all over facebook, well maybe not mine yet, but I will find time to do it during CNY). At this time there was also a ceremony involving a little hut on the grounds. According to tradition, the guy is supposed to build a hut outside the girl's house and stay there for three nights to prove his sincerity. Well, symbolically of course, so there was a hut, and they had ceremonies in there too, and KBear ceremonially 'built' it by tying up some bits of rushes to the roof. More prayers and music and chanting and pictures and it was time for dinner. After dinner, we were meant to have an early night because Wednesday was supposed to be the Super Big Day. I played some mahjong before bed. Though KanBear did warn us not to play so long. I think they were really afraid that we would die of exhaustion !

At first light, in fact, there was NO light, KanBear went around the house waking everyone up. As we converged in the living room, we could see rows of buses and I think we counted close to 30 buses. This was to be the boy's entourage to the girl's place. I should say bride and groom.... Anyway, we had a bus to ourself, and on each seat was a tray of goodies to be given to the bride's family. Our bus' theme was fruits. Oranges are pretty heavy on an ornate gold tray. We made quite a sigh, an entourage of 20 buses going along the streets on a working weekday, with police blocking off all roads and junctions, with people staring ! I wonder if it was all over the newspapers ?

When we arrived, we had to form a giant line, to bring all the gifts into the house. We made a very grand procession, going along red carpets along the 300 metres to the grand staircase. We all received an angpow each for bringing the gifts, a toke sum with twos involved. I believe this was called the Hai Goan Gomloh, or the groom's procession. Then we had a marvellous breakfast of Cambodian porridge. I think my table had two pots. Ceremonies involving prayers and singing began again in the house. As it was full though, we watched through the live feed outside. There were ceremonies, where it seemed the parents were negotiating, presenting the dowry (Chambak Rouy), monk's blessings (Soat Mun), where the religious priest asked questions, where the bride and groom were brought out, their hair got ceremonially cut (Gaat Sah), where tea was poured (Bang Chhat Madaiy), the exchanging of rings, the answering of questions, the receiving of blessings (Sien Doan Taa), it went on and on. Some people, or rather at one point all of us, shushed off to the poolhouse and fell asleep on the deckchairs. Later however, JinBear myself and RaeBear went back to watch the ceremonies. The reason was that, the traditional customs were the high point of the wedding right ? Anyway we had walkie talkies that we were playing with so we were not totally cut off to the people at the poolhouse. At one point, we were reciting Korean food with prices to WoobyBear. So it was like "Bulgogi, 5 bucks, PanJeon, 3 bucks, Bibimbap....". He answered with ordering McDonalds and I think we all shouted back, "Do you want fries with that ?" It was fun.

There was lunch given somewhere in the midst of all these ceremonies of course. The traditional type. With the soup. We could not escape the soup. I think we were feeling a bit out of it sometimes, because we could not understand the language and the customs, and there was noone to explain as the family were all inside the house participating. But after dinner, everyone went into the house, as by now there was space on the carpets in the spacious front hall. Except FredBear and myself. We stayed outside and talked. We could still see the ceremony, it was just that we were not inside. When it was over, we went inside to take photos with the dressed up couple.

And then it was time for the traditional Cambodian love marriage play. Where a girl has to search for help to go over mountains and dangerous rivers to find a magic herb to be given to the boy's family. It ended at midnight. We were all very tired and enthusiastically took up the offer to go home to nap for 3 hours. Except for FredBear and I who played 2 person mahjong. I feared, as he did that we would be unable to wake up for the wedding if we did nap. All too soon, the vehicles reached in time at 4 am to bring us to the bride's house again. This was dawn of Thursday.

Prayers had already started at a shrine on the grounds and it went on, with music and different actions by monks, priests the couple and parents. There was the presentation of the bride and also him leading her back to the house. After a few more prayers, it was complete ! They were married ! And it was picture time. We took so many pictures as they looked so regal and beautiful. They do make a lovely couple. After another hearty breakfast of porridge, we went home to sleep and rest. Some people had some lunch at KCafe after the nap, some went for massage, some slept some more, some played mahjong. It was a good rest, as we had to leave for the reception at 5 pm.

The reception was held in an open air area. We had to walk through a reception committe, a metal detector, and through rows of tables to some of the best tables in the place. There were two stages, one in front, and one in the centre for dancing and the wedding cakes. On the stage were famous singers in Cambodia with big screens because the people sitting at the back would definitely be unable to see the stage, it was that big. Dinner was the typical Cambodian/Chinese multi course dinner. There was a serenading of the bride by the groom, and also the singing of the family theme with powerpoint presentations. We also joined the Cambodian people dancing on the stage. In fact we were one of the last ones to get off, being very proud of ourselves for learning the complex dance moves ! It was amazingly fun, to see ourselves on the big screen as well.

With much merry making and drinking and eating, I can say that we honestly had a lot of fun. And it was sad to get a last look of KBear and KrBear as we really cannot say when we will see them again, but it was great to sort of have this fantastic last little get together. The memories of this wedding spur me again to have a great wedding, not to show off, but so that all my friends can share my happiness. And if my kids were half as well mannered as KBear, I would be happy.

Congratulations again to the wedded couple, and a massive thanks for inviting us to participate in your happiness.

The next morning I woke up really early as I wanted to walk around the city. Since most of them had already been around, I went by myself. Feeling adventurous, first I went to the Independence Monument and took a walk along the street with all the huge beautiful embassies, discovering many little watering holes, probably for the expats. There were also many big houses along those hidden side streets, belonging to many foreigners and some of the richer local people. It was quite interesting just to walk along by myself, and the weather was amazing as it was only about 8 am.

I trailed some tourists, and managed to see a shopping mall, some temples, some schools, the Palace and also managed to go through 2 markets. These markets were exactly like the ones that GANay and I visited in Vietnam (Sorry for the comparison again). Basically a musty smelling huge building with people selling everything that you can imagine from food to shoes to clothes to household appliances and touristy gifts. You can walk for hours and still have loads to see. By the time I returned to the Guest House it was around 11 and the others were up. I did a bit of studying and then we were off to the Russian Market. One of the bigger tourist attractions in the city, it was a Market much like Victoria Market or the Vietnamese Ben Thanh Market. Loads of VCDs, fake watches, jewellery, antiques, furniture, Tshirts, shawls, silk, instruments, sunglasses, hats..the list goes on and on. I think the girls had a great time and must have bought over fifty shawls between them !

Later we went back for a rest, and trooped down to the Main House for lunch and then to the karaoke room. We sang for a while and celebrated LucBear's birthday. While some people kept on singing (including me) some went off for a massage, some for a nap and some even went back to the Market ! I thought it was a bit of a rush job and stayed at the karaoke room till the end, before going for a cold shower.

It was a last minute dinner pre wedding party held at the bride's house. Since it was a first time for all of us, everyone was busy getting ready, putting on suits and shawls (since it would never do to be bare shouldered!!). The trip there was an enjoyable half an hour filled with many smiles and laughter. Her house was way past the airport and boy was it huge.

It was bigger than a football field I would think, and inside there was a moat going almost around it. I call it a moat, but it could also be a lake, and there certainly were a few canoes and even a pair of paddle boat swans ! There was also a huge garage, a whole indoor swimming pool and what seemed like acres of gardens ! We also sneaked into the toilets to get a look at the house inside. Magnificient. It would have passed off for a hotel ! Furnishings and Carpets were exquisite ! Down to the indoor orchid garden that they had ! Even the grand staircase to the front door would give any girl fairytale dreams as they walked along the red carpet !

When we arrived, most people were looking at us as we certainly were not wearing traditional clothes. We found some seats though and filled up three tables along with some of KrBear's friends. Later on, LucBear, DinoBear, YuBear and VBear even sang a song as a tribute to KBear ! Very sweet. And of course another song by LucBear and KaBear. And KBear sang a song too, to KrBear. Aww ! Later we learnt some traditional Cambodian dances on the dance floor !

All too soon, it got later and later, and we had to get back to get some rest. If I remember correctly, some people went out to sample the nightlife while LucBear went to get some Happy Pizza (spiked with weed). The rest of us took showers, watched some television and SoBear, FredBear and I even played Mahjong with a wooden set that he bought at the market earlier that day. We laughed a lot as we played. I still wonder to this day if it was the effect of the Pizza or were we just having a really good time !~

Around 2 am, the clubbers return amid much noise and fanfare, not drunk, but certainly on a high. And sticky with sweat too !

Pretty soon though, it was beddy time. The next 3 days would be long days !
