| Saturday, January 15, 2011 Tradition states that the first post of the year always states the resolutions of the year so let me start off with the results from the previous years. 2006 : Achieved 9 out of 10. 2007 : Achieved 9 out of 10. 2008 : Achieved 9 out of 10. 2009 : Achieved 9 out of 10. 2010 : Achieved 8 out of 10. Let me not waste time and instead list out the 2011 Resolutions !! Drum roll.......... 1. Lose 10 kg. This is a perennial failure. (Hope to achieve it this year. I was close, at one point losing 8kg, but have gained 3kg back !) 2. Travel to 2 countries (non HK / Malaysia) 3. Save more than I saved in 2010. (could be hard !) 4. Improve investment strategies. (one of the more interesting goals this year with good results already) 5. Complete 2 levels of French courses. (bonus would be more Korean and Spanish) 6. Keep home clean and laundry to be done timely. (very serious) 7. Complete 2 half marathons plus 1 more extra run. (hopefully with a faster time as well) 8. Complete a year of Sunday School teaching. 9. Make more new friends. 10. Do well at work. That settles it. In a year that included trips to Japan and China, where I got promoted and switched teams, moved apartments, ran two half marathons and studied Korean, Chinese and Spanish, got another three alphabets after my name, pulled out 4 wisdom teeth at the same time, it was a pretty exciting year ! But now for this year. After SZBear and mom came over for the Christmas and New Year, it was some of the coldest days of the year ! We were freezing and running from the shower into clothes. But pretty fun. After a very slack last few working days of the year, the first few weeks of the new year has been absolutely crazy filled with work. The bright part of course is that, now I can practise my trading skills since mom has a trading account. That can be interesting and in fact has been very much a learning process and has helped me get more discussion topics with MrSng. Chinese New Year will be very early this year and is just two weeks away. Who knows what will happen in the year of the Rabbit ? |
