| Wednesday, February 21, 2007 And the exciting things started to happen and I got overwhelmed. Crap. I was flipping through RoxBear's pics of her visit to Malaysia and I found a very nice pic and I stole it. Incidentally, that was the shirt she bought for me ! I like the looks of it very much ! Thanks very much RoxBear, it is a very nice shirt and better yet, it LOOKS like a very nice shirt !! WaynoBear will now be staying over at KiHoBear's place since I am working and will not have time to travel to/fro airport as well as entertain him. Well good enough. MsAngel wants to visit Malaysia late April and is hinting to stay at my place. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Arrghhhhhhhhhhhhh. No. No. Will just have to make up real excuses. Like the fact that I am WORKING ! And besides, I AM NOT INTERESTED. Then ParkyBear will be visiting as well in April. Well. OK. That is pretty exciting. Haha. And my legs still hurt and feel like jelly from the gym this morning. That is what happens when you have not gone for more than 6 months !! Since I was in Labuan in August, Prince in September and October, on holiday in November, and in Shanghai in December and January. So therefore no gym ! Not to mention any REAL work done in Malaysia.... Hehe. I have to get back into the groove somehow, but it is hard, knowing that the current position will only last into March, where I switch departments, learn for a month in April before taking May off for CFA Level 2 Exams and then spending time in Singapore in June and July. Before I know it, August and September will have flown by, and I will be switching again in October ! And then will be spending November planning for my Melbourne trip in December and then a whole year would have passed again ! The funniest part was that I punched in my age as 22 in the gym for the first time today even though I only have 5 months left as 22. Grrrrr. Feeling the age. Talking about the trip in December, I was planning to go for 2 weeks = 10 days leave to be taken. But looking at the calendar tells me that there are public holidays on the 11th, 20th and 25th. So if I took 12 days off, I could be in Melbourne from the 8th to the 1st of January 2008 !!! Oooh...Meaning 3 weeks there plus Christmas and New Year !!! Or I could take 10 days and be there from the 6th to the 23rd. Or take only 8 days and be there from the 8th to the 23rd. Or tkae 9 days and be there from the 8th to the 25th ! (Which of course would be dumb as I miss the sales.) Arghh. Choices !!! It is very tricky planning holidays as one has to keep in mind that one has to save all that leave until December, which can be very hard. It is always tempting to take a few days off whenever friends are visiting, or when one is completely too lazy to work, or to prolong a long weekend. Not to mention the fear that one's manager might have other plans in store for that period of time and therefore one has to plan even further ahead and keep the manager informed of one's plans so as to be able to keep from getting bogged down during that time ! As it is, I currently have 29 days left which can last till we go into March. Bearing in mind I plan to take 10 days off in May, I have 19 days to play with for the rest of the year. I am guessing that June and July will be holiday-free for me since I will be in Singapore. So that leaves March, April, August, September, October and November. Meaning if I go for the super-long holiday in December, it leaves me roughly just a single day for each of those remaining months. Discipline is needed. Wait a minute ! If I do take maybe 2 days off for ParkyBear's visit, that means I will have only 5 days left. And crap, an email I just received reminded me about my plans to go for the Hong Kong marathon. I have missed the deadline by 2 months and the event is in 2 weeks on the same day that LeeHom is having his concert here in KL (which I also missed). Well, all I can say is that at least I saved a couple more days of holidays and some money by not having to buy airplane ticket and entry fee for the marathon and also not having to buy the concert tickets. There is a bright side to everything !! I suppose today will just be mostly about doing some petty jobs and waiting for the day to be over so that wil meet up with everyone for a last dinner before everyone flies back to Melbourne. (Jealous). |
